La Nouvelle Femme is a 1000 piece puzzle featuring artwork by Alphonse Mucha.
Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939) was a Czech painter and illustrator living in Paris during the period of La Belle Epoque. known for his characteristic theatrical posters, Mucha has produced dozens of illustrations, decorative panels, and advertisements, which have become some of the best-known images of the period. His distinctive work was initially coined the "Mucha Style" but soon came to be known as Art Nouveau, depicting beautiful women, neoclassical style of clothing, and lush, pastel flowers. The Art & Fable team has created this puzzle with images taken from the works of Leslie carter (1908) and The Precious Stone Series (1900)
"La nouvelle Femme" is an homage to Alphonse Much`s favoured subject , the women of La Belle époque, or "The New Woman" characterised by a break from Victorian-era gender norms that stripped women of their agency, strength, and independence, Much painted subjects that highlighted their confidence, power, and individualism.
